Southern province AVEGA-AGAHOZO’s Members are given training on entrepreneurship skills (SEP) and they have a desire to use skills from training in creating small income generation activities by working with banks.
They are happy for the training on entrepreneurship skills and small income generation activities as this will help them in working with Small and Medium Enterprise in order to implement their projects with the help of AVEGA-AGAHOZO partnering with Comic Relief through SURF Rwanda, which has a partnership with AVEGA for the bright future of members through different activities like psycho-social activities and others that help them to develop themselves. A number of 900 members are in training of three months and they are appreciating the knowledge gained in this training like saving, business plan, business management and working with small and medium enterprises.
They’re hoping to start working on their business interest by using what they learned in the training. Before there was a barrier caused by lack of skills that help them to develop their businesses and luck of working capital and they are hoping to get a support from skills and loan given.
So far 27 groups of 473 members of AVEGA AGAHOZO have businesses that are well prepared for loan in small finance enterprise. In this training it is clear that loan support was needed as within their groups they started saving habits and loan for members is based on trust among themselves and capacity buildings of the institutions of groups. These groups are ready to take loan because they have saved up to 3,000,000 Frw which is 10% allowing them a loan of 30,000,000 rwf. The role of AVEGA AGAHOZO is mediating its members with financial institutions.
In a meeting that took place on 06-07/09/2016, participants from committee on province level, district level and sector level of AVEGA AGAHOZO that work closely on SEP project said that this project will help the organization to reach a sustainable development of its members. Trainees thanked AVEGA AGAHOZO, SURF and Comic Relief for the donation and staffs for the coordination of the project and promise these associations to use this donation properly. They also thanked government institutions for the support in this project and advises.
